3 HOT Networking Tips for the Holiday Season
#1 - Keep a look out for good communicators
Be friendly. Say hello and introduce your self. Ask questions. Find out more about them than they find out about you. Ask about their family, how they got invited to the party, do they like their occupation, what they do for recreation. hobbies. Remember, it's not an interrogation, but a conversation. Ultimately, you are looking to make a new friend and perhaps even a new business partner for sometime down the road.
You may even find out when asking these questions, what would compel them to look at your business or product in the future. In other words, they may or may not qualify for what you are doing. If they don't see a perceived problem, then don't waste your time offering your "solution".
Remember it's always better to go too slow than too fast, so at first, it is better to befriend someone than to give a full sales pitch and scare them away.
#2 - Give a sincere compliment.
After having some conversation and learning more about your new contact, before the interaction ends, always give a sincere compliment if they have the kind of people skills of someone you'd be interested in showing your business and/or product to at some point.
You may or may not even bring up your business right away, unless they ask. Either way, this is ok. Remember, the relationship is more important than anything and people will do business with those that they believe in, like and trust. And this takes some time to develop unless when you first meet, sparks start flying!
Tell them that you find their people skills excellent and that you are always on the lookout for competent ambitious people who may want to keep in contact for the future.
#3 - Exchange Contact Information.
Never give any information without getting information. Don’t just hand out your card like confetti. The key is to create a new friend and relationship where both of you want to keep in touch. In this case, the fortune is absolutely in the follow up.
Just keep in mind that you must first find out what is important to them, and then, make it important to you. This is how you can turn these new contacts into new friends and business partners.
Remember you can and should have friends out side your business if nothing else just to give you a balanced perspective.

Aim High for your Home Business Network Marketing

Plan for success. Most network marketers don't have a plan or commit regular time to their success.. This is odd, because in the traditional most business owner will have a detailed business plan. So, if you want to be successful, you need a plan. Your plan should include your WHY (the reason you are in network marketing), goals (steps necessary to achieve your WHY, and daily activities (things you will do every day to reach your goals). Once this part of your plan complete, then it's just a matter of scheduling high priority activities every day. These would include introducing your business/products to new people, following up, enrolling new distributors, training those new distributors, supporting your team. In the early growth stage of your business, you should spend the majority of your time introducing the business to new people and following up. When you business is bigger you can spend some of your time training and supporting your team. You should never get to a point where you aren't investing time each week searching for new distributors.

The interviewer was told to ask the person sitting next to him questions during the entire flight and do everything possible not to reveal much about himself. It Is Up To You

One of the first things successful people realize is the old adage, "if it is to be, it is up to me." That is, for you, the fact that your success and your course is up to you. This doesn't mean that you do it all alone. It simply means that you take responsibility for your life and your career.

Too many people today look at opportunity and figure it is up to someone else to make sure they get it. They look at financial security and hope that the government will make sure they live safely in retirement or in case of disability. They wait and wait, figuring that it is up to someone else. And then the wait is over, and it is too late to do anything. Their life is over and they are filled with regret.

This isn't true for you however. You know that you must take responsibility for your life. It is up to you.

The fact is that nobody else is going to do it for you. You must do it yourself.

Now, some people may say, "Jim, that's a lot of responsibility." But here's what I think, that is the best news you can ever hear. You get to choose your life. Hundreds of millions of people all around this world would give anything to live in the situation you do just for the chance to have the opportunity to take control of their destiny. "It is up to you" is a great blessing! Here's why:

1. You get to chart your own destiny. Maybe you want to start a small business and stay there. That's great because you can choose that. Maybe you want to create a small chain of stores. Maybe you want to have a net worth of $100 million. That's okay too. The idea is that you get to choose. You can do whatever you like. Different people have different dreams and they should live them accordingly.

2. You can reap what you sow. Sleep in and go to work late and reap the return. Or get up early and outwork the others and earn a greater return. Place your capital at risk and earn a return or place it at greater risk and perhaps reap a greater return. You decide what you will sow and thus what you will reap.

3. No one else can stop you from getting your dream. Yes, there will always be things that come up and people who may not like what you are doing, but you can just move on and chart your own course. There is great freedom in that.

4. You experience the joy of self-determination. There is no greater pride than knowing you set your mind on something and accomplished it. Those who live with a victim mentality never get to experience the joy of accomplishment because they are always waiting for someone else to come to the rescue. Those who take responsibility get to live the joy of seeing a job well done.

Let me ask you a question: Where will you be in 5 years? 10 years? Or 25 years? Do you know? Do you have an idea? Have you ever dreamed about it or set a goal for it? Are you willing to take responsibility and recognize that, "It is up to you?"

You will be wherever you decide to be in those timeframes. You decide. It is up to you.

And that is very exciting!

How to Begin & Avoid early mistakes

One of the recurring mistakes people make when it comes to marketing their network business, is that although one of their pre-sign up objections was that they "don't want to be in sales", immediately they go out and start trying to "sell" their amazing product to their friends and family.
The worst thing you can do if you are not trained properly is approach family and friends from the perspective that you have this great exciting business opportunity and it entails this great juice product with a ton of health benefits, and we will all be rich next week.
You could get the cold shoulder and if you persist, you might join the NFL Club -no friends left.
I tried this and seen others do it as well and it wasted both time and money. After a couple of months we either get discouraged and quit or learn to give people what they want.
A better way to introduce your family and friends to your business and/or product, involves what I call "friendship marketing".
Approach life in a friendly manner and begin conversations, with the intention of learning about people. Learn to "fish" for people’s wants and needs, and then if they fit into your criteria, offer a potential solution.
For example, if you hear your contact talk about their lack of finances from time to time, you might say, "(name of contact), you know how you sometimes mention that you wish you had more money/ spare time to do more things with your family, well...if there was a way to make that happen and it wouldn't get in the way of your job or current situation, would you be open to taking a look at it."
You see, if you don't know what your contact's need is and remind them that they have it, why would they ever want to take a look at a potential solution to something that they don't even realize is plaguing them?
It can be a problem with their finances, their health, their time freedom, you name it. The key is to offer a solution without trying to sound like a salesperson who is coming from a place of desperation or greed.
When you take this approach, more often than not, your contact will be open to listening to information, visiting your website or even attending an event with you.
Just remember that some will, some won't, don’t stress. Perhaps they will be more open to your recommendation at a later date.
This is the key to your success. Continue to meet and speak with new people all the time, listen for their problems or ask them about themselves so that they tell you their problems and then, offer a potential solution.
Collect and pass out contact details and if you come across someone who you really would not want to work with, look for some friendlier people.
How long does it take to get professional or trade qualifications? Years to qualify and years before they start to make decent income. There are short cuts to developing a residual income but they still require time and effort

 Dealing with Objections

One thing you will encounter in network marketing is objections. With the right mindset objections are not a "no, not interested" they are actually veiled requests for more information. For example, if your prospect says that they can't afford it (your product or to join the business), they are really asking you to show them more value, so they can justify the expense. If a prospect says they don't have time, they are just asking you to show them how they could work the business into their busy life. If they say they're not interested, they are likely saying, you still haven't peaked my interest. So, since you know you're going to get objections, wouldn't it make sense to know how to handle them? The first step is to repeat back what they said in a question form. For example, if they said, I don't have time, you would say, "so if I'm hearing you correctly, you're saying that you don't feel like you have enough extra time to devote to a business like this, is that correct?" The next step is to dig deeper, by saying, "would you elaborate on that a little?" Now listen and take physical or mental notes of what they say. Next, say, supposed I was able to completely satisfy that concern, would there be anything else holding you back?" If the answer is no, then show them how to leverage their time using the internet, webinars, teleconferences, CD's, DVD's and other tools that can be marketing for them 24/7. Offer to help them with follow-ups, if they get in a jam. Help them see that your business is a good solution to their business, as they could attain time and financial freedom within 5 years or less. Work on your answers to objections and you'll be excited to get them.
Remember you don't want everyone in your business but spending quality time on the ones you would like to work with is worth while.

Zig Ziglar (famous motivational speaker and author) says, "You can have everything you want in life, if you just help enough other people get what they want." Be more concerned about them and their family, then the money they are going to make you, and the money will come naturally. Many years ago, I heard a couple of MLM millionaires advise how to become a millionaire,  they said to make a million friends and the millions of dollars will follow. It's true, so go out each day to make some new friends.

Being proactive is more productive that worrying about what might happen.  FEAR stands for False Expectations Appearing Real - you start thinking about all the terrible things they could say or how they could react or the negative impact it could have on your relationship. Prior to your contacting them, is any of that true? Of course not, so fear is not real and you can control it. Instead of entertaining those negative thoughts, think of all the positive things that could happen - they could be very interested and join your business, then proceed to become a superstar, resulting in you making a ton of money. They could join your business and you could enjoy traveling with them on exotic vacations paid for by your network marketing company. They could use your product and it could transform their life, causing them to be grateful to you. Think on the positive things, walk in faith, and good things will happen.

Use the resources

Use the tools and resources available. Another mistake network marketers make is they talk too much. Everyone wants to share all the knowledge they've gained or they talk because they're nervous. What often happens is that the more you talk, the worse you will do in MLM. As you learned previously, ask questions to uncover needs, wants, dreams, and pain areas, then use the company or upline produced tools (share the product, web sites, webinars, teleconferences, CD's, DVD's, etc.) to present your business. Tools are duplicable and people are not, so when you use a tool (instead of you doing an elaborate presentation), you prove to your prospect that anyone can do this business. The key to using tools is follow-up and that's the topic of tomorrows tip.

Another mistake network marketers make is that they don't follow-up or don't do it effectively. When you use tools, the follow-up is critical. Now, most people don't like to follow-up because of fear - fear of rejection, fear of looking foolish when they ask questions you can't answer. Well fear is all in your mind (I'll address this one in the next tip), so don't allow it to destroy your business. Instead, step out with courage and make those follow-up calls and appointments. Learn how F.O.R.M your Success. As I mentioned in the last tip, most network marketers are tellers. In other words they learn all about their company and products and then vomit that information all over their prospects. How appealing is that? To establish yourself as a professional, learn to ask questions to uncover needs, wants, and pain areas. One of the best ways I learned to do this is to FORM people. Ask questions about their Family - Are you married? What does your spouse do for a living? Do you have kids? How old? What are they involved in? Bet you love being at their activities? Ask about their O ccupation - what do you do for a living? How long have you done that? What do you like about it? Don't like? Is that something you see yourself doing the rest of your life? Ask about Recreation - what do you like doing when you aren't working? Any great vacations planned? Have you ever been on a cruise or have you ever been to (Tahiti, Maui, Europe, etc)? Finally, ask about M oney - you must make a lot of money in your job/profession, right? I've got a new business and I'm going to be making a lot of money in the coming years, have you come across any really great investments? The goal is to discover their needs, wants, dreams, and pain areas. If you think you've uncovered something, you may have to dig a little further, before going on. FORM works well over the phone or in person and it sounds very natural - people love talking about themselves, so start asking questions and you'll be amazed what you learn.

Build your brand. There are hundreds of thousands of network marketers out there and for the most part, they all look and sound the same. Your job is to differentiate yourself from them. The first way is to be a questioner rather than a teller. Most network marketers just tell people about their business and products, which is a turn-off. Learn to ask questions to uncover needs, wants, dreams, and pain areas, then provide a solution in the form of your business/products. The second way is to create a professional image - much as you might if you were a Realtor. Study the best Realtors in your area and see what they are doing, then replicate what you see and like. You might develop a personal logo, catchy name (I was Peter the work from home friend, during my early years in network marketing), or saying (mine - We will work with you) you might choose, Your Success is Our Success or Match energy with energy, you get the idea.  What Do You Do?

Very often you are going to have people ask what you do for a living. It's critical that you have a stock answer you have memorized and internalized, so that it comes out of you naturally. For example, if you are in a health company, you could say "I help people become healthy and wealthy, do either of those interest you?" If you are with a cell phone company, you might say, "I help people eliminate their monthly cell phone bill." If you are working a full-time job and your business on the side, you could say, "My full-time job is as an Accountant (or whatever you do), but I'm building my fortune through a part-time home business." The key in whatever you say is to just give them enough to create curiosity, so they will ask for more information.
